Fishermen’s Grotto #9
When we were at Fisherman’s Wharf, I wanted to try the wharf’s famous clam chowder in sourdough bread. Boudin comes first to mind, but when my husband and I perused their menu, we didn’t think they had enough to offer. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely still want to try their clam chowder but since we were hoping for a full lunch, we opted for a real restaurant. After looking around for a decent place to eat, we decided to try Fishermen’s Grotto.
Upon entering the restaurant, the old stair banister leading to the second floor dining room gives you a sense of the good ol’ days. The restaurant has been serving tourists and locals for about 70 years. The place offers a wonderful view of the wharf. The service we had was impeccable. The waiters were old school and very respectful. The food definitely did not disappoint. Needless to say, we had a great lunch.
